    help series 5t

I have a fanuc series 5t controller on my mori lathe and I do not understand how to input the g-codes and m-codes manually. I have it on MDI but I don't quite understand how to do the N-blocks because when you press N10 for ex. then INPUT it does a search for N10. If at all possible could anyone send me some info. on how to do this Please.

You use the INSERT key only in EDIT mode when you want to input data into a program in memory. For MDI, you don't key in N-numbers. You only key in one command at a time, then press INPUT and START. For example:

    G50 INPUT
    X12345 INPUT
    Z23456 INPUT
START (sets the X and Z position)

    G00 INPUT
    U10000 INPUT
    W10000 INPUT
START (moves the Xand Z by one inch)

    T0400 INPUT
START (selects tool #4 with no tool offset)

    M03 INPUT
    S1000 INPUT
START (starts the spinle at 1000rpm - if you have direct RPM S-codes)

Each time you enter a command, you must run the address LED light to the letter (like "M" or "G"), then enter the number, then press INPUT

Sometimes the START buttton under the INPUT key works, sometimes it does not and you have to press CYCLE START on the machine panel instead. There is a parameter for this.
