Question Macro A

ok, so i want to go back in time a few years (bout fourteen i think) im lookin for a macro-a prgaming manual.

i have to write a tool offset macro for an old fanuc OM, already got one working on a 21i, but thats macro-b so i just need to figure out how to convert it. and to make things even more interesting i only have a maintainance manual for the OM.

doesnt really need to be a manual, i just need to know what all the 'H' 'P' 'Q' and 'R' codes mean.

any push in the right direction would really help, i have been searching the net for about 2hrs and cant find a thing.

-Craig

Buy me a Beer?

There is a possibility you have macro B in the control, which is P913 #7,
I am not sure if you have to also turn off macro A, which is P902 #6.
Bits # are 0~7 Right to left.
Al.

Question Getting closer...

did what ya said Al, turned off P902 #6 and turned on P913 #7. and now im a little bit closer.

befor i changed the parameters it was alarming out when i tryed to send macro program from pc, only alarmed out when it hit the '=' sign. (alarm 006: sighn imput error a '-' was imput after an address with which it cannot be used. or two or more '-' signs where input. modify the program.

now it recives the program alright but as soon as it hits the first macro line (eg: #1=1.) it alarms out with alarm 008. i only have the alarm list of the 21i and 008 isnt listed.

do ya know what this means? anymore hints?

thanks for the help so far

The only description I have for alarm 008 is this:

008 ILLEGAL USE OF PROGRAM END: An attempt was made to execute EOR (%) because therewas not M02, M30, or M99 at the end of the program. Correct the program.

That's from the CD-ROM version of the 0M-C manual, which may not be accurate for your control. According to this, if you don't have a percent sign in your file, it shouldn't be getting this alarm.

That is what I found for that control as well.

Stinkfish, why not post what your using as your macro. Also double check what is actually loaded to the control. Perhaps it got corupted, or truncated.

Smile Thanks guys!!

i must be getting to use to using the 21i, diddnt relise that the OM needed a M2,M30,M99. on the 21i it just stops at end of record. so its all good!

and the best part is that we where looking into getting macro upgrades for two other O series machins from a maching tool distributor, thanks to you AL we dont have to fork out $600bucks a pop.

just got a couple more questions if anyone might know the answer (expecially you AL):
-got a full parameter list? few more things i wouldnt mind knowing if the has the capabilities. G10 for example
-21i has #3006=1(message) like a program stop with a message, OM says invalad variable. is ther an equivalant? or i gotta use M0

and that all for now.

thanks again for your help people!!
