| First of you must excuse me for my very poor English, but i really really need help and that is why i'm here. Here's the problem, my dad doesn't have any idea of computers or internet, and he asked me if i could look for a program to comunicate his YCM fanuc 21i-TB control machining center to a laptop... As far as I know he's been using a program called NC link, but he says it isn't working fine... his laptop is a bit old, it uses Windows 95 as operating system. Now, can NC link and the fanuc settings be wrong and that is why it isn't working fine? he also told me he made a db9-to-db25 rs232 cable, may this be wrong too? Waht software do you recommend me to look for (remenber the win95 fact) I think that is all, please sorry if the thread's too long or you dont understad my english... Any help you could give me will be very apreciated! |

| First off. does he have the manuals for the machine including the Fanuc? Is he getting an alarm signal or what are the symptom details? What/where did he get the communication cable from? Has it ever worked ever on this set up? I use dos based programs usually with a jumpered out hardware handshake cable, (3 wire), the other program that works ok usually is if you can get a copy of Terminal that was supplied with Win3.1, I have a copy if you need it. The Hyperterminal that comes with Win98 is a PITA in MO. Al.
