| Hi guys, I have a Chiron Mill2000 5 axis machining center with fanuc 18i-MB5. I curently program continious movement on a cam system but do not use radius comp. Could you please help me, how do I set up the control for 5 axis radius cutter comp, the fanuc manual seems very complex cheers dave |

| By now you may have got the answer. However, just in case.... On a 3 axis machine, radius compensation is possible on x-y, y-z and z-x planes. If the motion is three dimensional, compensation is done for the projected curve on the chosen plane. If the other two axis of the 5 axis machine are for positioning only, then the same thing applies (I believe) - only the xyz will have a new orientation. Please do send your feedback. I will also learn something new. |
