| psevin is right. The Fanuc 10 control can only send and receive files by RS232. That's all you can do with that control. On the good side, the 10 control is relatively easy to communicate with. Most DNC systems can upload, download, and drip-feed the 10 control with no problems. You also probablyi have 2 (and maybe 3) serial ports on the control. You can set it up to send data through one port and receive data through another port if you like, so interfacing serial devices is no problem. |

| Nope. You can't do that because the USB-to-serial adapters all require a device driver on the USB side. If you use a laptop with a USB port, you can load the USB device driver on the laptop and talk to the CNC with a serial cable, but the CNC can only do serial I/O with simple Xon/Xoff handshaking. |
