    Help required for Fanuc 0t

    Hello all,
Can anyone help me with the following problem,
I have an alarm 1019 Turret Solenoid, what does this mean?
If the machine is left alone for a few hours it will start working again, however after a couple of hours running the machine throws up the alarm again.

    any suggestions?

    Cheers
    Gareth

What make and model of machine do you have? That sounds like a MTB alarm.

An MTB alarm is a Machine Tool Builder alarm. The builder will have alarms that they generate in the PLC if certain conditions are not met. There is a 24V DC solenoid on the Duplomatic turrerts for indexing. I'm not sure if you're cutting wet or dry, but it sounds to like you may possibly be having contamination problems. I would check to see if the area where the solenoid is contained has any coolant in it.

According to the diagrams that I have; looking at the front of the turret where you can see the Duplomatic "D" symbol, this plate has four small screws retaining it. This is the only solenoid that I can find being referenced. I would check there to make sure you don't have any contamination in this area. You may also want to check under the top housing to make sure you don't have contamination there causing problems in the main wiring. There is an O ring seal that can go bad in that area.

what model of duplomatic turret do you have?
the company that i work for has 3 lathes w/duplomatic turrets
very common failure here hope this helps
The turret solenoid alarm is caused for an "untime" in the turret brake
1 remove that litle cover (the one with the leter D)
probably you would need to remove the side cover from the turret first !
2-remove the solenoid assy you can use a slide hammer w/M6 shaft
3-with your hand remove the locking pin
4-check for the condition of the 2 springs there
5-make sure the sensor that see this locking pin is not that far

    Thanks for all the suggestions..
I have checked the turret and there are no contaminations.
I have noticed that if you hold in the plunger (locking pin) you get the "1019" turret solenoid alarm. So I have made sure the proximity sensor is clean and it has started working again, whether this is temporary I don't know but that seems to be the problem at the moment. If not I will report back.

    Thanks again
    Gareth.
