Default 18M controller Flash ROM software corrupt- Machine will not boot up

    Dear friends.

We have determined that the files inside the Flash ROM are damaged or corrupted.

My question is; since we have 3 machines with the same 18M control, and only one is having trouble, is it possible to use one of the good working machines to FORMAT and RELOAD these corrupted files (NC BASIC, SERVO; PMC, ect) with good working files into this suspected damaged card? Or buying a new card is our only way out of this situation? I will appreciate your inputs.

    Thanks !

Please provide the part # of the main cpu. You could have one of several models.

That is a 18-C control. You can copy the system software and the sram; make sure that you back everything up as much as possible.

Would you happen to have some sort of instructions set for the procedure that you are describing? Is that something that can be done from the Boot system menu screen? or do I need to rely on one of our good working machines to run that copying operation?

We have a procedure to change/restore the main system files, and have done this successfully on the 16/18 iA systems.
It may be better to talk over the phone: 289 389 6117.
