    Default Schematic needed- Fanuc Encoder

    I am trying to build a simple angle measuring machine. I have a Fanuc A860-03000-T001 200P encoder. I want to connect it to an arduino to give me the ability to zero a readout and measure the angle of rotation.
    My problem is that when this was removed from service the wire was cut off and I have no idea what wire it what. Could someone possibly give me wire color/designation information on this unit?

    Hi,

    On this forum you can find more info about this encoder,
    Is it a Fanuc A860-03000-T001 200P or A860-0300-T001 2000P...........?

    That is great information- but..... I dont have the connector- just bare wires and so I cannot correlate the labels to a wire.... Does anyone know what how to correlate wire color into this info?

    I am not at the shop right now but I May have something when I get back.
    If you are just wanting to connect the MS connector on the motor then it does not matter what the colours are as long as you know the MS connector pin out details.

    I am only looking to use the encoder for angular measurement fed into an arduino.
    I will not connect to a servo, it will be turned by hand

    Were PDF's any good? If not what is the MS connector number on the encoder?

    The connector has been cut off. That is my difficulty- I have just wires and was hoping for info on what color wire goes to what terminal in the plug.

    Check to see if the cable has these conductors
    Black = A
    Black/White = /A
    Blue = B
    Blue/White = /B
    Green = Z
    Green/White = /Z
    Grey and Grey/White = 0v
    Red and White = 5vdc
    Test from Red to White for continuity
    And from Gray and Gray/White for continuity.

    If you have different colours, list them.

    Those are the correct colors. I'll ring them out as soon as I can and let you know what I find. Thanks a lot for that info.
