    Default activate helical interpolation fanuc 21i MA

    Can I get assistance with the procedure to activate helical interpolation on fanuc 21i ma.

    I have just begun using onecnc xr7 mill expert. The vendor created a post processor. First attempt stopped and issued Alarm 21: illegal plane axis commanded. Searching resulted in fanuc 16i needing Parameter 9930 bit 3 turned on. I've checked this parameter and bit 3 is off. I attempted to turn bit 3 on, but it changes back to off. Does anyone know the parameters and the process required to activate helical.

    Possibly installed software does not support this option. You need try to install other series/version of software. Please, tell me private your PM.

    Helical can be an option. I have not seen it not included as standard in the USA for decades, but is is up to the MTB I guess. I helical all the time on a Fanuc 6.
    I suspect you code is bad please post it.
    You should call Fanuc and they will tell you if that option is enabled on that serial number. Option parameter numbers may not be the same from a 16 to a 21, and you cannot just change them anyhow.

    Helical interpretation is a standard option for software version DDF1. Enabling options may require a procedure that includes entering a password.
