I need some help with my mazak vcn 530c with smooth control, I'm milling a large and long piece of steel, it is so long it has to stick out of the machine . Then I get a problem with tool switching. When I make a tool switch, the machine puts itself in Y0, but since the material is as wide and long as it is, this is not ideal because it will bang the material into the machine.
Have found that I have to do something in the parameter list, have to change parameter numbers in RB19, but have done so, but the machine is still in Y0, talked to the vendor of the machine but did not get any wiser
Do any of you have any ideas?
Tool Change is executed by a MACRO, Y0 is executed by G0 G91 G28 Y0.
When you can't change the MACRO and it is one product you can remove the tools and put them in the same pot [T01] by hand.
Let's say use pot T01 for all tools.
Modify the program for all tools to T01 and change for every tool H01 offset in the OFFSET table before run the program to next tool.
Use a M01 [Optional Stop] or M00 between the tools so you have a program stop before next tool.
It's not the most ideal situation but it can do the job.
