Need tech help interfacing 6047 amps to 0MA control
I am retrofitting a 0MA control onto a mill that originally had a 5M control with gettys motors. I already have 99% of the parts on hand. I want to upgrade the old scr velocity control units to the newer 6047 style. My question has to do with the tachometer signal. These motors have a built in pancake tach, and a separate fanuc 2000 line encoders on the ball screws. Can I just disconnect the tachs and rely on the encoder going to the main board? The motor I am using for the 4th axis is a 5M with just the built in pulse coder and doesn't have a tach. and am wanting to use the 6047-H002 VCU Does the 0MA have the capability to generate it's own tach signal based on the encoder input like the 6M did?

Check Parameter 37 bits 0-3 0=1st axis, etc. This tells the machine if there is a separate pulse coder that detects movement. WARNING: Disconnecting this may cause the axis to not move as expected. Other parameters will also need changed. That will be based on pulses of the motor encoder, pitch of ball screw, and detection unit.

0MA with analog servo interface is able to convert encoder signals to tach, but you have to use motor encoders instead of encoders installed on the ballscrew

if your pulley gear has zero backlash you can use separate encoder.
Fanuc 0MA with analog servo doesn't have the separate encoder option.
Fanuc computes position and speed with one encoder

I use "native" old DC servo, made in Bulgaria.
I read ladder with help of my friends and have found that it suitable for my purpose. I have no reason to edit it, so as my machine is very simple and doesn't have tool changer.
If customer wants to add 4th axis I will use additional PLC and launch it in step mode by using B-code
But actually if I need to edit it I will do it - not by my own, but with help
