Default Probably a simple question for Fanuc OM

    Hi guys,

Was hoping to find out more about the TEACH and OFFSET MEASUREMENT buttons on the Fanuc OM controller for my Makino mill.

I've tried for Work Offset and Tool Offset setting but they don't seem to do anything.

Am I missing something here ?

    Thanks

I think you can use TEACH for programming, you can manually jog to a coordinate press teach and if you enter Z->insert the current value should be entered, i don't think people use it :P
Offset measure i think i have used, but i think it was called something else, i think it was just teach on that machine, however i will try to explain.
If you need to set the offset of a tool you can jog to the part and press the key, then go to the tool and user the "measure" command

Thanks for the reply, Proto ..
I've used these soft-keys on the newer Fanuc with i .. but they just don't seem to do anything with this older model ... I'll give it a try the way you described it ..
