    Default Need some help please...Fanuc 31i Viewing # and D Parameters?

    Hi All,

    I am doing some install work at a factory in India, Installing a Trevisan Hori Mill with Fanuc 31i. Fanuc is quite new to me as my work is 90% Mazak and Mazatrol, so need some pointers please!

    We are having some issues trying to get the machine to run in Auto, even though we have no alarms.(machine just goes to first line of program and sits there forever) I e-mailed the OEM and they sent back some things for me to check,

    Check that these parameters are correct:

    D100= T IN SPINDLE
    D104= T IN GRIPPER 1
    D108= T IN GRIPPER 2
    D112= T IN MAGAZINE CHAIN

    D500= T IN THE QUILL (M63)
    D504= T IN THE FACING HEAD (M62)
    D508= T IN THE FACING HEAD (M61)
    D516= MAGAZINE POSITION

    and

    #1000 = NO TOOLS IN SPINDLE
    #1001 = QUILL WITH A TOOL (M63)
    #1002 = FACING HEAD WITH A TOOL (M62)
    #1003 = FACING HEAD WITH A TOOL (M61)
    #1004 = QUILL IN WORKING POSITION
    #1005 = FACING HEAD IN WORKING POSITION
    etc etc

    Now I have been searching through the control today and I can't find any #parameters or D parameters like this (the macros in the offset page stop at 900). Am I missing something?

    Any help would be great!
    Thanks, Craig

    #1000 series are system variables. These are not displayed on the macro-variable screen. The only way to see their values is to assign these to some variable.
    For example #500 = #1000; #501 = #1001 etc. Run these in MDI mode and check the values of #500 etc.

    Post the program you are trying to run.

    Thanks for the Reply,
    I managed to get it going eventually, I managed to get some I/O's from the OEM in English which made the job much easier.
    The pallet changer was in the wrong state and also the ATC door switch was faulty.(both gave no alarms).
    There was also a latched PMC Keep relay K900.4 that even the guy from Fanuc hadn't seen before.
    It was just a basic XY ballbar program, which run ok once the issues were sorted.

    I never tried the #1000 input into MDI, do you literally type #500=#1000; into MDI and then the value of #100 will be displayed in #500 on the macro page? or am I wrong. Sorry, just a fanuc amateur!

    Thanks

    The D values are PMC data table values.
    It looks like the machine tool builder has some rethinking to do.
