Hi. We have a Fanuc OT control with AC drives and motors. No PMC. Just the CRT and MDI panel, and a basic control panel. We have separate incremental encoders to put on the ballscrews.
We removed this from an old American lathe which had been retrofitted by Olympia Engineering shortly before we acquired it. Of course the batteries died since then, and there in no documentation whatsoever. We do have the Connecting manual and the manual that gives a list of the parameters, and what they mean. We need to install this on an Okuma with a dead control.
We have it all connected away from the machine to test before installing. Almost everything is working - we can change parameters, input programs, and output programs as well as Parameters, etc.
The problem is the axis drives are not getting the +- voltage to drive the motors. The motors turn about one round per hour. We have used a 1.5 volt battery on the input to the drives and both work fine. If we turn the encoders we will eventually get alarms 410 and 420. The position indicators will only update with Estop pushed in. We have tried jogging, homing, and handwheel, but in all cases just end up with alarms 511 or 521. I am guessing these are all because the Axis Inhibit light is ON, and we have not figured out what the cause for that is. There may be a parameter or two that we don't have right, but just not sure anymore. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. We have found this site very helpful in the past, and sure hope someone out there can help us with this. Thanks.
