Cant use measure on G55-G59 says its protected? must be a parameter that I dont see in the book. also is there a way to get rid of it asking me if its ok after I make a offset with the + (incremental) pain in the a*$% thanks

Press the Offset/Setting function button. Press the far right soft key under the monitor till you see GUARD. You will find your settings there.

IIRC, you have to have the WCS (G54 - G59) active to use the MEASURE function. Try MDI G55; INSERT Cycle Start, then see if you can measure G55.
