A password is required during initial installation to start-up the machine as well as each time the machine is moved. Upon repositioning or relocation of the machine an alarm will sound and the machine will shut down. A new password is then required to re-activate the machine. The process is simple — just contact Marubeni Citizen-Cincom prior to moving your machine to verify the location and ensure it is in compliance with export regulations. You will then receive a new password to initiate the start-up at no additional cost to you.

GPS. Someone found a machine that was not allowed to be in a certain country. Now they added this GPS that only the machine tool builder can reset. This is so these machine can't operate in countries that want to drop bombs on our heads.

We had this issue with a new Mazak machine we installed. The way it was explained to me was that there is a gyroscopic sensor inside the machine, that basically senses sudden/drastic movement, typical with rigging, driving on a truck, floating in the ocean, etc. The password is required to reinitiate the machineu function after moving. As the other poster on here said it keeps these countries with limited abilities that way. It isnt that they couldnt get a machine, but when they unlock it the passcode would only enable certain function limitations. I was told it had more to do with encoder capabilities. These new machines can operate in the .00001 tolerance and repeatability range, so it would restrict these countries from making sophisticated parts beyond a .01 range. That is what i know of it. It isnt necessarily equipped with a lojack or anything like that. Hope that helps.

On a side note, we moved it 5miles over railroad tracks and up a steep grade, and did not have to reset the password, so it cant be to overly sensitive.
