    Default Disabling an Axis

    Hi everyone,

I have a Hardinge T42SP Fanuc 18-T control with sub turret.
The motor contactor on the sub turret servo amp went bad.
Is there a way to disable the Y-axis from the control so I can run the machine with just the X & Z axes?

    Thanks

    Possibly not,
--- as power is required by the motor to hold itself in a braked position.

Set parameter 1023 to -128 for that axis to disable it

Hope the machine will not require Y axis reference before cycle start.

If you turn off the associated K-bit for that axis you want to disable it will not require you to home it. I worked on these machines for 32 years at Hardinge.....so I will help him get running, I have helped many people through some weird stuff....anything is possible
