Memory problems fanuc 3tc

I have been having problems with my turning center and today it has displayed working memory parity low I have powered down the machine without any luck getting it going. I would like to know as much about this error as you know. Please let me know your thoughts and I have read that I will need to dump the memory and reinstall the parameters. Please explain this and let me know if I need to do this aswell as how to perform this task. Thank you and hope to hear from you very soon.

I'd say you have a bad chip. Give GEFANUC a call they will help you.

Buy me a Beer?

Make a copy of the parameters in any case.
You could look for some old RAM IC's HM6116 and replace them in the work ram area.

removing memory

Can I remove one chip at a time and find the one this is bad and leave it out. Will the control still work with one less memory chips. I have a list of the parameters. Do you think I could dump the memory and reload the parameters? Are the parameters the only things that I will lose along with part programs and tool list info? I don't mind reloading the parameters.

I think you will find there is four HM6116 RAM IC's the top two are the low byte and the bottom two high byte.
You cannot run without all 4 in place.
Parameters and programs are stored here.

6 chips

I think my machine has 6 chips. The ones that I have been looking at have a yellow tag on them. About 1.5" long. It also has 2 empty spots beside these chips that looks like the same chips would fit it them. Where is the fanuc software stored? Also does anyone know if you can buy these chips what kind of memory are they?

The executive software is stored in ROM, these are 8 Ic's and are 2764 EProm ic's, do not remove these.
There are two Work RAM HM6116 and two i2141 parity ic's which store the program and parameters.
You can try Google to see if you can still get these in some places, but they are probabally getting scarce to get.
Or try and get a cross for them.

They should be marked HM6116 and right next to each one is a smaller i2141, if you can't find these numbers, there is a remote possibility that subs have been fitted.

can't find them

Thank you for your help maybe she is a goner. I should start looking at retrofitting it if I want to keep it. It is too bad it is a very nice running machine when it ran. Do you know of any replacement chips for these.

dumping memory worked

I got rid of the error by dumping the memory and reloading the parameters. Thank you everyone for all of your help.
