"memory protect key"?

Hi,
I have a fanuc series O-M control. I'm trying to download programs from my pc with very little success. I think I have everything set right, but I don't know how to turn off the "memory protect key". If someone could walk me through this it would be greatly appreciated.

There is usually a key-operated switch on the operator's panel. If there isn't, then you may have a "bit" that you can change using the optional software operator's panel. You may have to check with your machine tool builder (not Fanuc) about this.
