Fanuc 15m Memory
My latest project has me getting a Heian 8 head router with a Fanuc 15m controller up and running. No manuals or info.
I am Drip feeding a file (or at least attempting to) and get a buffer overflow error.
Using Cimco to DNC the file. The controller is set to TAPE and started by pressing Cycle Start.
The settings are
Com 1
7
Even
2
I have slowed the transmission buffer down on the PC and have set the Xon/Xoff as well.
Any direction on this would be helpful.
Also as a side note. How do I figure out what I have for memory in the controller. It lists # of pages as well as M's
Thanks for all the help in the past when I was just lurking around.

Your DNC software is not responding to the handshaking signal (Xoff) fast enough, and it's overflowing the tiny (10 character) serial port input buffer in the Fanuc control.
Properly written software should not need time delays between characters or between blocks.
I could help you with this, but darn it ... I'm getting tired of offering free support to all my competitor's customers. Cimco and Cadem are both overseas companies, and you'll find that you just can't call these companies for support any time you need it. Cadem is from Bangalore India, and Cimco is from Denmark.

FANUC 15-M COM1 stuff
Hey guys - Im trying to connect to a FANUC 15-M control panel also. We are a wood mill, and I have an Windows XP thin client out to the floor and connected a Serail COM1 cable to the FANUC 15-M console. However, I have no documentation on what this console expects for communication. I downloaded the CADEM free NC Lite 4.1 software, and am just wanting to set it up - any help with this is TREMENDOUSLY appreciated....thanks in advance. dkalana@hurcoind.com
