O mate M slow rapid rate Phase II | | As stated in a previous post ...O mate M slow rapid feed....We had a board change and parameters were input by hand.
AL correctly pointed to parameters 518-20 and the values were input at 1200 instead of 12000 . So we changed them back to 12000 and experienced the 421 error for position deviation during a rapid X or Y move.To get things moving I tried a 9000 value that gave me 350 ipm and it worked OK as long as the feed override was below 100%.Apparently rapid feed varies with the override below 100% but jumps to max rate at 100% setting or higher.
The tech guy who made the board change and parameter inputs had mentioned that he tightened up the accuracy of the machine. He must have realized this position deviation problem late and lowered the rapid feed rate to make it work. Not bothering to make any explanation of the changes before he left. Thus the original problem. Being new to parameter changes I was not sure what to do. So thanks to AL who sent me a very navigatable parameter pdf file, I found that he changed the In position width value from 20 to 30 for parameters 0500 and 0501. Also position deviation limit in movement value from 10000 to 5000 for parameters 0504 and 0505. All other positioning values remained as before the board change. Deviation in stopped state in par593 - 596 are set at 200.
My question is this ... can I retain these increased accuracy values relating to feeds during cutting giving me more accurate machining but not during rapid movement, Or do I just change back to old values that are known to work ? How far off is a 10000 value for 504/505 and a 20 value for position width ?
Thanks in advance
