First Post here. I recently purchased a 2001 Kent 3 axis bed mill w/ Fanuc OM-D control. Nice machine to replace my B'port Series II w/ Mach2/3 retro (for sale now by the way). My issues are as follows: 1. Machine will not start/run in auto with program in memory. 2. The "z" axis will not home or "ref". It is about 7" - of the two trip dogs for the pair of limit switches that provide over travel & reference. I think the not starting issue is/may be due to the fact that I cannot ref the "z". While my set of manuals are better than my old Fanuc 3M manuals, they are not good or detailed in a way that my brain works. Any input from you guys? Did I leave out critical info? BTW, the machine builder is closed for the IMTS show. Thanks in advance! I will post in two places! Larry |

| If you can jog it away from the home limit direction and then start home Z and when it does, manually press the home limit switch and then release and see it it registers home at that point. Al.

1. Yes it moves and stops (The x and y ref properly). 2. It does throw an alarm as it passes"0" in machine position. (dont have alarm # handt byt it was standard OT in 3rd axis 3. I have tried to manually "trick the control by tripping switch and no luck (if I am doing it right) Thanks for the inquiry Al_The_Man Larry |

| It sounds like the home switch is not being seen, if it hits the Z OT switch? You can see the status of the home limit switch in the diagnostic screen, it can also be monitored in the ladder display. Although re-reading the post, it stops before the limits so it is probabally seeing a soft overtravel, This can usually be cancelled by power down and then pressing Cancel and P buttons and push power on button simultaneously. Always make sure you have all the parameters saved before any Fanuc 'special' key press. Al.
