It means Fanuc wants more money
The 0T control is very basic, you have to buy an option from Fanuc to run macro.

Hello
I'm trying to get macro's working on some on the Fanuc OT controlled machines, some of which work.
The parameters I have already changed are 912 / 913 to 10000000.
But on some machines when I put a program from my PC into it, i.e.
%
:1000(TEST MACRO PROG)
#18=5
WHILE[#18GT0]DO1
N1
#18=#18-1
END1
M99
%
It inputs perfectly and runs, but on some it crashes with alarm
004 or 006
I have noticed this happens when a character like [ ] ( ) are trying to go in, as they do not display on the Fanuc program screen either.
Does anybody know why this could be, or how to enable the other characters.

Ok, but I never bought the option on the other machines, oh well, just have to make do I suppose
You need to check parameter 902 for bit 6=1 (7th bit from right).

Checked it, this one is fine
Actually the two Fanuc OT, one which works Macros and one which doesn't, both 900 series parameters are identicle.
hmmm....
a Series 0TA it will require new ROM chips.

Once again, if it's an "0TA" series you're outta luck. No way that I know of to turn on parentheses or square brackets. In my experience I've had to create the macros offline and load them through the RS-232 port.

I tried to turn on macros on OT-C (1995) chancing only parameter 902 bit 6 to 1, but it did not worked.
So, do I have to turn on also parameters 912 / 913 to 10000000 to get properly working macros?
I'll put my 2 bobs worth in,
006 alarm is sign "-" input error (input after an address with which it cannot be used) or 2 or more sign were input...
try putting [] either side of #18-1
ie #18=[#18-1]
yup 902 is macro A
and 913 is macro B
dunno the difference but B is cleverer than A![]()
Shouldn't that be 24 new penceOriginally Posted by la_coterie
