DNC operating from M-card problems.

I just bought a Flash card and I cant Dnc from it. I ve formatted the card and it works well to read/write programs from it, but not dnc.
I ve set all the necassary parameters and as well the M198 code for calling sub prog from the card. Nothing works. The manuals says that from RMT mode I shall press a certain softkey, to run program from the card, but the key doesnt appear on my screen. Is there I parameter that I missed to set?

I ve changed Parameter
6030 to 198
0138 #7 to 1
020 to 4

The control is a Fanuc 18iT

You create an M code. M198 will be run an program O198 !!! In these program (O198) you call the subrotine in the memory card ???

Like

O198
M98P1000L0 "these instruction will call de subprogram O1000"

M98P0000L0 will call prog 1000 that is locadet in the standard memory and not the m-card.

The instuctions from the manual are M198P1000L0 to call from m-card, but it doesnt work, nothing happends, no alarm or no prog.

The soft key DNC-cd will not appear if I try to run under RMT mode. According to manual so are parameter 20 set to be 4 to acces the m-card. this works fine, but in one place of the manual it says that the parameter 20 should be set to 15 to use M198.
The machine will just let me choose a value between 0-4.. What to do?

The speed setting must be set in the PMC. Turn on pwe, go to sysytem, others, speed (found by pressing > untill displayed) set the pmc speed same as rs232. Also, the device setting (same page as pwe) needs to be set to 4.

Hope this helps!!

I cant find any speed for the pmc. The speed for channel 0,1,2,3 are set to 4800 baud but I am using device 4 and I cant find any parameters for that device.

When RUnning line M198P4500 the machine just execute the line and then stands in autmati coperation but nothing happends. If a put 0 to para 6030 and uses the m198 line, wouldnt it be a alarm then? Kind of improper M code ?

I bought it at a Tv/stereo store. It s just a Compact flash card and a Pcmcia adapter. It did cost me about 50 £ and then the card burner is included.

I read in the manual that machines with stand alone panel cant use M198 due to that there arent any M-card interface. How do I know what contorl Ive got? I can load progs. from the card so is there another interface to use for M198 call?

Is it a stand on alone control on the pic below?

The memory card interface is the slot which takes the card. If you currenlty load programs from a card, you have the interface (as your picture shows).

Put mode select to MDI, Press e-stop, press offet/setting button, press setting under CRT, change PWE to a 1, then press system button, press pmc under CRT, opt, then arrow to the right untill others is shown, press others, arrorw to the right again untill speed is shown. It is self explainatory on the speed page. This is the speed for pmc cia card to dnc at.

Hope this helps.
