I have a Mori Seiki MV-45 w/ Fanuc 6M control. I just had my X axis servo motor rebuilt. I re-installed and now I have a Servo 400 alarm. I checked all connections from servo drive all the way to master pcb...all okay. I can turn the ball screw by hand...so should not be getting this servo overload alarm. BTW, I tried P,Q, cancel while powering up to erase alarm, (I thought maybe it was still stuck from original problem....no such luck). Anyone have any ideas? I don't. I need this machine bad!!! |

| High Current Alarm 1. Bad/shorted motor or cable. You need a mega ohmer to test correctly. Megohmmeter - Megohmmeters - Electrical Power Testing - 3T105 : Grainger Industrial Supply these work good, and are the cheapest you can get. 2. Bad transistors in the drive unit. |

Thanks for all of the help. It was, as we all supposed, (but didn't want it to be), a bad cable bringing power to the servo drive motor. I have run into this problem over the years more often than not. I guess the reason I didn't explore this last night, it, as you all know is a ROYAL pain in the rear. Nevertheless, I repaired it and am up and going. Thanks again. If I can ever be of help to anyone, please don't hesitate to email me. BTW, to any of the members of the trades: This is THE most comprehensive data base on CNC problems out there. |
