yes the LEDS on the main board can give a clue to what is faulty. post some pics or just list the LEDs by name and their status.

Thanks for your answer Fordav .

    Here it is .

The first problem is the red light SYSFAIL ...Immediatly after press ON ...

Then the step 3 of leds 1to 4 cannot be performed .

Leds 5 to 8 stuck at the step 3 with HDD blinking intermittently ( HDD is turning without suspectful noise ...)

The screen start up but show nothing BUT Regarding the screen , we have an issue since long time but it was not that serious ... Let me explain :
When started up the machine , the screen showed first a black stain that growed ( scary ) ... and then the microsoft windows screen appeared and everything came back to normal ( no more black "potatoe" on the screen ... ) .
Since we cannot boot the machine , after press ON , there is only the black potatoe which finally become as big as the screen is ...

Can it help to confirm the faulty component?

WOW! your problem is your machine plays music!!!! Remove the music and put back the CNC control and that will fix it ;-)

But seriously, any red LED on the main board indicates either the main board or display module is bad and needs to be replaced. It's not something the average person and fix easily. Just replace the motherboard first. If that does not fix it replace the display module.

I will try to get a main board for reasonable price first .
    I will let you know

Thanks again to share your knowledge

    Fordav ,
I forgot to tell that the machine builder RD engineer suspect the PC card .Are the symptoms matching with this , too ? or not at all ?

what PC card? I suspect he means the main board because Fanuc i-series is PC-based. In the maintenance manual SYSFAIL means motherboard failure but it also says if any red LED is on then main board or display module needs replacement. In short you have a hardware failure. You need to replace major components of the CNC system.

    Hi Jeff

This an Open System, which version of windows was it running???
Top row of Green Leds represent PC Cpu card
Bottom Row of Green Leds represent NC CPu Card

do you have the HDD copied??
do you have backup of Sram or NC & PMC PArameters??
need this data before tackling repair
will add further detail when i look at the Books.

    Hi all ,
Sorry for a so long silence ...Thanks to all those who care this thread.
I ordered a new display together with a motherboard . I received the display but not the motherboard . Problem partially solved , whatever .
The problem is on the display . I guess the screen initialization is part of the boot sequence and that's what stopped it .
I installed a new display , restored the sram . The machine has risen BUT After few hours of production , the screen dies slowly .
the connectors between the display and the motherboard is loose . If I remove the connector , put it back the system restart without any problem until .......
Is there any trick to" repair" these connectors ? Conductive paint applied with one hair , looked through a 20 times scope???Solder a new socket on the board ? Come on guys ,if we are here it is because we are all sons of Mac Gyver ...

Between , just to share ... If we buy spares from China , we have to agree that we may be cheated in a machiavellian way and then we cannot claim anything back ...Moreover , because we are in urgent needs of solutions ,our vigilance is low ...Beware of vultures !
I learnt that few days ago ...
