Hi all, this following code produces wrong operation. G81G18X2.5Y0.8Z2.5R-1.0F6.5S850 X7.5 X13.5 G80 The cycle will rapid to the Y0.8 then rapid down to Z-1.0 then feed up to Z2.5 at the feedrate given. I wanted the cycle to rapid to -1.0 in "Y" then feed to 0.8 at a Z height of 2.5 then travel to next "X" location. I am not sure why, however, the g18 plane is not wanting to aact correctly. As a side note.... The code will run exactly the same wether I use G17, G18 or G19. Any help would be appreciated! TIA, Deano |

I've never heard of the G17/18/19 plane selection used with canned cycles. My understanding is that the plane selection only applies to circular interpolation and/or helical interpolation. You may have to write a short macro to accomplish the equivallent of the G81 cycle in the Y axis. |

Thanks for reply Dan. What i had to do was to use the G68/G69 3-D coordinate coversion to rotate my plane. The trick was then to figure out the direction of the moves because the Z and Y calls in the cycle were actually reversed and in different directions. But once i figured that out, all was well again ![]() Thanks again, Deano |
