    CHNC II+/Fanuc10T Cyclestop

On the CHNC II+ with 10T control the auto mode gives spindle brake "on" and the spindle motor energized. A free spindle is possible only by going into jog-mode and switching to spindle-free.
Does anyone know of a parameter change to give a free-spindle in the auto mode?
The brake can be jumpered off in back, but the spindle is still draggy because power is still on the motor.

I am assuming you mean that when the spindle brake is Released in the auto mode, the spindle motor feels active at zero speed? And the machine has a Spindle-Free switch or something to put it in this mode in other functions.
Number one it seems that the spindle is kept ON at zero speed as a C axis would.
The functions to do this is usually done in the ladder PMC and I cannot think of a parameter that might do this. Are you sure there is not an M code that would turn this situation off?

No, no M code. Brake comes on automatically with M0 or any spindle off. A jumper on the brake relay can keep the brake off, but I'd like to de-energize the spindle drive as well.
It's not a show stopper, but we're doing repetitive work that requires a free spindle and it requires 3 extra membrane-keystrokes per part.
I was hoping for a parameter, but if it's buried in the exec program it's probably inaccessable.
