Question Fanuc 18 M not powering up

Hello, we are working on a Femco BMC-110 with a Fanuc 18 M Not powering up, when we turn on the main breaker the screen says Input search then Graphics is ready, waiting serial bus is ready then goes black, this happens before the on button is pressed. On the power supply the green status led is on, on the main board all green status and all the red alarm leds are on, and on the option board 2 all green are on and the 3rd red is on. This all happens as soon as the main breaker is turned on. Please help I need to get this running asp. Thank you

Does the screen stay dark? Is there a 'control on' push button?

Yes the screen stays black, and yes there is a power on button on the control all this happens before the button is pressed. Screen shouldnt turn on untill after the button is pressed.

That confused me too. Which model 18 do you have? Look at the MAIN CPU model # at the bottom of the board. The problem could be the control powersupply (right hand most board) or the 'ON' pushbutton/wiring.

It's a B model, and I guess I should have said this happened while the machine was on.

Please clarify: the control was ON, suddenly the screen went blank, after powering the machine off/on, the screen says Input search then Graphics is ready, waiting serial bus is ready then goes black; this happens before the control ON button is pressed? What happens if you then press the control ON button?

Yes the contol was on when the screen went blank thought it was the monitor powered of to check it. When I press the power on button nothing happens,But if I hold the control off button while turning on the breaker get the same message on the screen

you could have a control problem; I am puzzled why no other leds are on. I don't know what to suggest without being there.

If I understand it correctly, your CPU is halted or not started. The 3rd led on the option pcb is the key. what is the option board. could be a servo fault or bad i/o link. sent you a private message. what is the status of the drives?

i have experience with fanuc 18 and with that problem, maybe it same problem with yours. i think that problem is in power supply unit inside the i/o board.you can try that, maybe its work.

I would agree with ofan. You have a problem in the power supply. Just remember that the power supply has the battery for the main cpu, so that if you send it to repair you will loose memory.
