How did you determine it is NOT picking up geometry offset numbers? Are you meaning for cutter compensation? Or raw tool position?
I am trying to assign a totaly differant offset to the same to for a differant operation. Instead if T0808 I used T0818. My problem is that that will not pick up the geometry offset numbers, How would I get it to read the new geometry numbers?
Thanks

When in mdi I call the tool with a T0103 for t1 offset 3 and it does not show up correctly for the absolute position. We have some older machine that will do this(O-T).
it works. we do it all the time, almost every day in fact. just ensure the geometry offset for BOTH tools are identical. i.e. if using tool 8 offset 8 and tool 8 offset 18 then geometry 8 and 18 must be the same in both X and Z
Check parameter 5002 bit 1. I believe it should be 0. This makes the geometry and wear offset both the same #. If it's 1, then the geometry offset # is the same as the tool #.
I use same tool with different offsets and it works fine here and my parameter 5002 bit 1 = 1 (opposite to what you are saying)
for 5002 I have 10000010
it may be a parameter issue though.....![]()
