Hi i'm an operator in a mill. I operate a Ge Fanuc Series 18i-m router and for the longest now i have been getting 438 x axis inv. abnormal current alarms and do not know what to do. It seems the maintenance men don't either. But anyways it happens when my machine usually makes L cuts right in the corner or cuts in an almost z shaped cut. It doesnt happen everytime but it can be expected to happen. They changed bearings thinking that would help, greased it up and i think they have replaced a drive also but it hasnt affected anything. Also it has 8 linear bearings and they changed the outside bearings thinking that was the problem and the inside ones have yet to be changed and i was just wondering if you guys had any solutions that i can throw out there to the maintenance men.
that alarm is indicating over current for the axis if that problem doesnt happen everytime and your maintenance member have change mechanic part and drive. maybe u can check power cable and encoder. there is deffective or no. or u can try change the servo motor.
