Where to buy fanuc oi in the us

    Hello,

i want to retrofit a bridgeport type knee mill, with fanuc controls, drives and servo motors. I dont know where I can quote it, in the us.

I was thinkng in 0i-Mate or 0i-MC, what is an estimate cost for these kits, wich one is more recommended . i don't want to install servo for the spindle .

    thank you

    1-888-fanucus...

kinda of overkill and expensive for a bridgeport IMO.

Initially I wanted to use Fanuc when I started out, Personally I found Mitsubishi much better to work with when I got into retrofits, Fanuc didn't seem to want to know unless you are an OEM, Mitsubishi was like night and day.
Depending on what help you can get in your area, I would also look into Anilam and Fagor, before I went with Fanuc.

I am not sure which is the cheaper units now, I used to use the popular M50, it was around $8k-$10K if no spindle included.

Well it IS a cheap answer, but no comparison to a Industrial control.
What ever you go with I would definitely recommend servo's.
You might want to look at Dynomotion Kflop/Kanalog as well.

Lower cost, im sure Al's price was control only. Please correct me if im wrong Al, but 10K for the control, and another 10k ? for 3 axis motors and drives.

I would look at the Ajax all in one, with Yaskawa servo motors/drives and a Mach 3 front end.

Bet the Fanuc with motors and drives will be way over 20K.

I never paid more than $14k for Mitsubishi system, I may have had special pricing as I was set up as an integrator?
A few years back Mitsubishi used to dump older models of CNC and VFD's on ebay, complete lathe packages were going for $7k. They would upgrade to mill for minimum chge.
I was buying VFD's by the pallet load at the time.
I believe they got feedback from upset distributors, as they no longer have the ebay account.
At the time I paid big $$'s for Fanuc courses, Mitsubishi's were free, as long as you made your way there.

I don't use Mach at all so it might be best to post the question in the Mach forum.
