Angry Weird problem in Fanuc 0T control Takisawa TC-1

    Hi Everyone..
I am facing a problem in Takisawa TC-1 with Fanuc 0T control. Machine is very old and not in good condition.
    1. In auto cycle whenever we call any tool No. machine starts moving in minus direction and then it stops after travelling 212.26 in minus direction then the turret rotates at the desired tool no. then machine goes back to initial position.
    2. But when we command the same in MDI mode then tool no. 1,3,5,8,9,10,11,12 are changing okay without any axis travel but when we command tool no. 2,4,6,7 then the axis start moving before tool change and stops at certain point and then tool change happens.
Specially at tool no. 6 both axis X and Z start moving whenever we call tool no. 6.
I have checked there is no. tool change program in the machine and i think in turning centers there is no need of tool change program.
So Please help if somebody has seen same problem in there machine.

think there might be 2 things- only one is a problem though...bet there is a 'geometry' offset of the amount its moving - zero out the geometry it will probably stop moving...

problem I think will be found in parameters: theres a parameter that reads something like "offset is by coorordinate system shift/or offset is by axis motion"... dont have a book handy, but most of the offset stuff is grouped together, shouldnt be hard to find...set that bit back to 'coordinate' and think the problem will go away.

theres also a thing on fanucs with abs/inc... if you do g91g28x0z0 (or g28u0w0) it goes straight home...however many machines if done in abs (g90g28x0z0, or g28 x0z0) the machine will move to zero then home...a 'odd feature' as I really cant picture a situation where that wouldnt cause a wreck every time in absolute mode...dont know if that could be causing some of this issue too. Im sure others will chime in that are more familiar with the offset handling

I believe tc429 is referring to parameter 0013 bit2 (GMOFS):

"Tool geometry compensation is performed by shifting the coordinate system/by moving the tool."

1: The tool geometry offset is cancelled (?) with vector processing, i.e. tool movement.

0: The tool geometry offset is conducted by the shifting of the coordinate system.

Thanks for the reply guys.... tc249 and dcouper
As told by tc429, i checked and found the machine is shifting by the Geometry offset.
and when i deselect the Geometry offset from the option parameters the tool change is fine but in that case we can't use the Geometry function during the programming.
And as told by both of you about the parameter 13#2, i read your reply little late, now its night here, tomorrow definetly i am going to check the same parameter and tell you guys back.
And thanks a lot of you both for help here....
