    Default Remote Diagnosis

    Dear All

    Kindly advice for the following :

    1. Can v use Incremental encoder in place of absolute encoder of same PPR, mounting etc in case of Fanuc Controllers, if yes, please advice what changes v need to do in Paramter etc ???

    2. We want to see and operate various screens of CNC machines at shop floor from Electronics Dept (like it is possible in case of softwares like Team Viewer etc in case of Machines with standalone PCs) please advice the way out

    Default Remote Diagnosis and Incrementeal encoder in place of Absolute

    Dear Sir

    Thanks for your reply

    We have following Fanuc Controls

    0iTC, 150MA,0iMD,320iAS,21MB,GE Fanuc Series 18T, Power Mate D,H, Fanuc 0M, Fanuc 160iMA, Fanuc 160i MB

    Please advice on how to switch over from absolute encoder to incremental encoder and vice versa

    Also Please advice if there is any way out to access various screens of these controllers from remote location, like machines at shop floor and we need to access various screens of the these controllers from Electronics Lab

    Why would you want to do that ?
    For i series control it MAY be possible to use an incremental encoder.
    Parameter 1815 is the only one that seems to be involved. Please check with Fanuc to find out if this is indeed possible.

    that seems like a very strange request for a regular Joe.
    Only the machine tool builder would need that info or have access to it.

    I agree, at least for multiple machines. I can see it to be needed for a specific machine. And switching back and forth? Why?
