    Fanuc 6T Ikegai AT20U

Hello, I was hoping someone would be able to provide me with guidance and help me to get my machine running. The parameters were not right for my machine so I had to get them all input into the machine. It has a C Axis so the factory parameters weren't completely applicable. It had a leak and so we removed the component to repair the leak. Before doing this the machine accepted all MDI commands. After replacing the component and refilling the hydraulic fluid the machine will not accept any MDI command. I can use any of the manual controls to change tools, home machine, home c axis, turn spindle (albeit rather slow), and every other function I have tried. But when I enter MDI commands such as a speed and direction for the spindle, nothing happens. The commands will input to the screen but they will not start. It is not just limited to these commands either, I cannot turn on the coolant, or control any other function through MDI commands.
I was not personally present when the component that was repaired was put back on the machine, but I am the one who has set all the parameters and I know they weren't changed. As I said MDI worked perfectly fine, and after it was put back the machine does not accept MDI commands.
The component that was repaired relates to the foot pedals and their control of the chuck and tailstock. Both of which work perfectly fine when actuated. So I am at a loss. Any help would be very appreciated. Thank you.

    Jon

it sounds like the machine is waiting for the chuck clamp signal and since the pedal was worked on that may be your issue.
in MDI does G00 Z10.0 work? if yes start looking at the pedal wiring.

I entered in the MDI command you told me to try and it still just inputs to the screen it does not execute. I have another Ikegai same model and it doesn't work with an entirely different set of problems. On it though when I enter MDI commands they input to the screen then when I hit start it executes and the commands disappear from the current screen. But this machine when I entered your command it just stays on the screen and doesn't do anything. Which is the same for any MDI command I input to the machine. Unfortunately when I talked to someone on the phone about the book for wiring they said they did not have it for this machine and that it was too old. So I should look into the wiring on the pedal solenoid that was taken off to repair the leak? Thank you for your patience with me.

Is the control able to accept and run a short test program in Auto Mode successfully? If so, wiring may not be the issue.

The manner in which MDI commands are launched, ie via the key pad Start button , or the Cycle Start button is determined by parameter setting. Have you tried executing the MDI command using the Cycle Start button?

    Regards,

    Bill

No it doesn't run any programs of any length either. I have tried both the start button and the cycle start button to no avail. It was working before the addition of fluid and the reattachment of the two solenoids for the two foot pedals for the chuck clamp and tail stock. When it did run I would input the commands and hit start. Although at that time I had never tried cycle start.

I don't know if this helps but the bottom part is the diagram on the solenoid top. And the top part of the diagram is how it's wired inside. One solenoid uses 54 and 55 while the other uses 52 and 53, I believe 100 is the same number for both solenoids. I'm no expert on wiring so I have no idea if that is any indication on whether or not it's wired correctly. I apologize if it is not that well done, but I couldn't get a picture to come out right, and so I used paint to make that.

Okay I reversed the high and low numbered wires thinking maybe my guy had reversed them when he put it back together. So now I can input MDI commands. I have another question. Before this I was able to get the spindle to turn and higher rpms, now it turns really slow and and some points it slows down a little more and then goes back to the faster of the slow speed. It never gets any faster. What could have caused this?

wiring again? check your other solenoids that were touched (tailstock pedal etc?)
if he re-wired one wrong they are probably all wired wrong.
since it worked before the problem can only be with something that was touched

Okay does that mean I have to rewire both solenoids until I find the combination of the two that makes everything work? I ask because if both have 3 terminals on either side that means there's 81 different configurations right? That seems like a lot of trial and error. When the solenoids weren't connected the spindle turned, would it be ok to disconnect one, and see if the spindle turns? Would that narrow down which solenoid needs to have the wiring looked at?

Okay I figured it out, someone changed one of the parameters. I went and changed it back and now it works like a charm. Thank you for all the help!
