Clock on Fanuc OT-B???

Was the clock on a Fanuc OT-B an option? I tried assigning the value of macro variable #3012 (time) to a common variable, but I get an alarm every time. It doesn't work for #3011 (date) either. The alarm I get is number 115, "A value not defined as a variable number is designated". What gives?

the clock is an option but most have it. do you have a clock somewhere on one of your screens? if yes the variable should work. if not you cant read the clock/date variables.

I don't see a clock anywhere on the screens. I guess it was an option on this machine. I was assuming that all machines had a clock in the control.
