    Hwacheon Hi-Eco31A M-codes: thread chamfering

    I've got a 1998 Hi-Eco31A machine with a Fanuc 18TC control.

    Does anyone know the M-codes for chamfering out of thread? The manual does not indicate any M-codes associated with this.

    I have a Daewoo Puma 200 from the same year, and it uses M77 to pull out straight, M76 to chamfer out. These don't work on the Hwacheon.

    Is it possible that this might be controlled by a parameter instead?

    M24 Thread angle pull out off (pulls out straight)
    M23 Thread angle pull out on (pulls out at 45 degrees)

    these are standard Fanuc codes and go way back to 6T and 3000C

    what control does your Puma have?

    If you're programming a 2-line G76 cycle, I believe the P word in the first line controls the chamfer. P021060 does 02 "spring passes", 1.0 leads chamfer out, and 60 degree threading tool (30 degree infeed). Don't remember needing an M-code.

    @fordav11:

    The Puma also has the Fanuc 18 TC control.

    According to the manual for the Hwacheon, M24="air jet and spindle inching" - M23 is not shown.

    We do have a Mori SL-4 with Fanuc 6TB, and it uses M23/M24 (as does our Mori SL4 with Yasnac 2000GII control)

    @dcoupar:
    For the record, I am using G92 to thread with on all machines.

    Parameter 5130 stores the value for the thread chamfer amount. The manual does say that "A signal from the machine tool, initiates thread chamfering." for G92.

    @ dcoupar:
    I have had to alter 5130 on the other machines before... So I guess I am stuck on trying to find out what the "signal" (M-code) would be to trigger the chamfering... thanks for the input.
