We wish to lock out the program editting ability on our machines. There is a "Program Protect" key on the control panel, but is there a way to do this with a parameter setting instead? The operator still needs the ability to delete the programs and read programs from a DNC network, but we want to prevent the abilty to edit the programs. Please help! Thank you, Dave |

| Dave, IIRC the only way to stop editing of programs is by the protect key on the front of the control. If there was a parameter to protect the normal range programs it would not allow you to delete them or read them from a DNC network. You can however protect programs from edit or deletion and they will be programs that you make in the 8000 and 9000 program number range. These are typically designated for the machines macro programs. So if you were to create a program in the 8000 and 9000 range you can lock them by setting parameter 10.4 for locking the 9000 programs and parameter 389.2 for locking the 8000 programs. Stevo |
