Locating MFin pin - Fanuc OM

I am trying to hook up a Haas Indexer control box.

I have been paging thru the Ladder for ever and trying to locate the MFin pin to hook up the indexer wires.

Can anyone give me a bone here?

1990 Kia KV40A, Fanuc OM-C

In Fanuc the FIN signal itself is not necessarily a physical input.
It is often done in the ladder that M,S,T, codes trigger the internal common FIN signal by virtue of a physical input pertinent to that particular M code function, for e.g. when a T code is issued, the tool changer will toggle an OEM selected input to confirm the tool change has taken place, this input will then reset the internal FIN rung.
It is possible for some OEM's to set a spare input that can be used when an after-market M code is implemented.
If it is there, it should be shown in the I/O listing, otherwise you would have to implement it in the ladder yourself.

Thanks for the response Al.

I will try to search a bit more, the book says there is a M21/M71 setting for an M-Code, so I just assumed there was a way to access the MFin feature.

I may just call Fanuc tomorrow and see if they can tell me exactly what this thing has.

You may not get much 'joy' out of Fanuc as they do not write the ladder, the OEM would be the one to contact.

That's a good point. I will call our dealer that handles Kia in the area here first.

Thanks,

You might also want to see if your control has the Dprint function as well. That allows you to specify angles in the program, and output through RS232 to the haas unit. The instructions are in the HAAS manual to do it.

I actually did see this feature in the Haas book. Was nervous about how it worked. I did wonder if I could use it as a "trigger" just to index. Because I do have Custom Macro A and B on this machine plus I can make User M-Code programs (ie. 9001 and such).

Might be something worth exploring.
