fanuc robodrill t21if (dripping from card?)

hi there this is a bit of a long shot but does anyone know how to set the machine up so it will read directly from the memory card we were dripping from the computer using a program called cimco but our anti virous software will not allow it to run any more. And at the minute we are only able to run prog's that fit in the control.

any help would be much appreciated.

thanks chizz

do you mean run programs directly from the memory card slot that is next to the screen?
or some other type of built-in controller card?

oh I see you said 'memory card'

1. set the I/O channel to 4 (in settings)
2. enable PWE (in settings) and set parameter 138 bit 7 to 1
3. put memory card containing your CNC programs into the slot
4. select TAPE mode
5. press PROG then soft key '+' until you see 'DNC CD' soft key item and select it
6. from the displayed list of programs enter the program you want to DNC
7. select 'DNC ST' soft key item
8. press cycle start

you can call up a sub-program on the card by having the above parameter 138 bit 7 set to 1 and also parameter 3404 bit 2 set to 1
then instead of M98 to call the sub program, use M198 Pxxxx and it will call program xxxx from the card.

I'm not familiar with your exact control. You should have a hard button on the panel named 'setting'. press it and you should see a screen like shown below. or find it on your control, maybe via maintenance?
you need to turn on parameter write enable (PWE) then set those parameters I said and change the I/O device to 4. If you can't do that or have no idea what I'm talking about then you'll have to get someone at your company who knows more to do it for you and/or search these forums for general info on doing that. It's all over here, there are hundreds of posts about changing parameters. Alternatively the procedure is explained in detail in your operation manual and parameter manual.
