Backing Up Parameters on 10m & 6t

After deleting the parameters on the mv55 w/fanuc om and having to call the Mori dealer to get them, I decided it would be a good idea to back them up on a PC. With the instructions I found in a thread on here I was able to back this machine up without any problem.

I am now trying to back up some other machines, and have a few questions about them I'm hopeing someone here can answer.

First is a 10m. The operator manual tells you how to punch the parameters on this one. On the screen you can choose which parameters to punch, NC, Pitch, All, or PMC. I can send the NC and the Pitch parameters to the PC fine. If I choose All, I still just get the NC and Pitch. If I choose PMC all I get at the PC is a %. Can you not send these the same way? Is there anything else that needs to be recorded on this one?

Next are a couple of lathes. One is a 6t and the other is a 6tb. Can you punch the parameters on these or should I just write them down?
Anything else that needs to be recorded on these?

Thanks

There is a set of info that machine maintenance techs call "System Configurations." You could save these as well if desired.

As far as the 6T controls are concerned, please let me know if you figure it out. We have some of those dinosaurs, too. I tried every way under the sun to punch-out the parameters... but no luck. I would THINK it should be possible... but who knows what they were thinking 100 years ago. I called GE & asked about this control once. The guy literally laughed out loud. He said, "we didn't even own Fanuc that long ago."

First, you cannot save the pmc params to a computer on FS 6,10,11,12.
You have to manually record them.
You also have to back up programs (watch out for hidden ones), macro vars, offsets. Don't worry about the ladder on any Fanuc control.

Save parameters from a Series 6 as follows:
1. Select the parameter page
2. Select Edit Mode
3. Get the external device (PC) software ready to receive
4. At the control type P-9999 then press the PUNCH button
5. Parameters will now be output to the external device.

Regards,

Bill

this only applies to the NC params; the PMC params have to be written down.

Ok, thanks guys. I will get them recorded. Think I will get a few SD-cards for the digital camera (one for each machine), and take screenshots of all the settings.

memoryman,

How would I find any hidden programs and macros that I should back up?

I would like to know too.

I'm workin on makin up my parameter list for when my 6M-B2 is finished.

I have found my A06B-0641-B011 servos in the pile I received a couple few months ago.

I lost pretty much everything when I pulled the control from my Monarch V45 some years ago.

I think i even had the M/M board.

for 10m there's a parameter/pmc backup procedure here....
Fanuc 10 Fanuc 11 Memory Backup Procedures

to know if you have hidden macros just change parameter 3202 bit-0 to 0 for programs 8000-8999 and parameter 3202 bit-4 to 0 for programs 9000-9999 (i.e 3202 should be xxx0xxx0 the x's are ignored here, the 0's are the bits that should be noted) to show them and check the program directory, or call them into memory one by one and have a look.
Once the parameter is changed to allow reading/editing you can just punch them out like any other normal program.
If you don't see any 8xxx or 9xxx numbered programs you don't have any secret macros

These parameters are for later controls, like Series 18 and 21. Bit #2201.0 (NE9) is set to 0 to allow editing and punching O9000 -O9999 programs in the series 10, 11 and 12 controls.
