    Churchhill Grinder with fanuc series Oi-TC controller

    Please help to solve this problem.
    Grinding is not smooth & noisy.
    I think the following setup is not OK.

    Wheel width = 80mm
    Passes = 10
    Infeed value = -0.050mm
    Dwell value = 01 sec

    Thanks

    Still looking for help.
    I doubt if the Infeed value (-0.050 is crrect)
    Also note that the the X & Z value does not correspond with the reference.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    are you grinding OD or ID? what is the rpm of your wheel and part?
    what do you mean when you say the values do not correspond with the reference? which reference and which X/Z values?

    0.025 is a better in-feed value per rev but grinding isn't very difficult or complex usually so I don't think it's that critical if the feed is only another 0.025 more if your part is not thin
    I worked a Churchhill grinder when I was an apprentice 25 years ago.
    maybe your machine has maintenance issues? how old is it and is it in good condition?
