I am working on a sharp 2412 with a fanuc omb control that for some reason has completely been cleared out. So I need to get a copy of all the 9000 and 8000 series programs for this control if anyone has them. And no the company that has this machine has never backed up the machine so they dont have them either. |

| huh? all machines are shipped without any programs. all CNC and macro programs were created by a programmer/cnc machinist. if someone didn't back them up they are gone. there is no standard list of stock factory-supplied macro programs. |

| sure, some special programs could be put there at the customer's request or for special machine functions. But in any case, if there was no backup it's all gone. Don't get your hopes up that the OEM will supply it. We had a ZL35 drop its memory (caused by a Fanuc tech swapping boards to figure out a fault in a different machine). The ladder and all parameters (including some paid-for options) went bye bye. The company had no backup and Mori-Seiki also had no record of this specific model and set-up. The Fanuc tech ended up using a backup from another ZL35 from a different company then editing the parameters but the machine now refuses to do things it did before and the Fanuc guy still can't get it working 100% despite the company calling him out dozens of times and paying his hourly rate. Basically he loaded the wrong ladder and it can't be changed now according to him. The only way to solve these types of problems is backup the data yourself before this happens. | Thanks guys i think those are what I need. Now that I have my computer working right with their other Sharp machine, sending and recieving fine. I now have tried to send their program for the part that they produced on that machine. In the process of trying to send the files to the machine I am getting an 87, 85, and 71 PS alarms at different times sending the same program to the machine. Any help with these alrms would be appreciated and hopefully I can get these files in the machine. |

| dont have a book here, but think 71 is program number already in use or key is off... doublecheck parameters 2, 12, and 550's to make sure stop bits and baud are ok, theres another one down in the 30's or so I think that says if m99/mo2/m30 is encountered during upload it will auto increment the program number and continue loading anything after said mcode as another program- seen that cause the 70's alarms too- I can never remember the parameter though, so often just alter the m99s to n99s and edit them back after loading... dont forgetthe eia/iso, tape volume checks, etc on the setting page before the parameters good luck- GLAD to see someone had the t/c program available, that coulda been fun. |

| Yeah.. I've gotten some sample programs from generous people on ebay, here and some other forums. If you really need original programs, hang out here and watch for someone that has your machine and see if they will give you their settings to compare or use to fill in missing bits of information. |

| I have had success in the past with older machines by contacting the MTB for the original backup of the control. I have even lucked out with Fanuc from time to time. You are just going to need the serial numbers. I would do as Dave suggested and contact Sharp to see what they have. If that doesn’t work for you then you will have to do as Greg said. Hang out here until someone comes across with your machine. Stevo |
