Does anybody know if I can update my work offset using a G-code in my program? What I have is a boring mill with an 18i-MB control with a quill controlled as the fifth axis(W) parallel to the Z axis. I know Toshiba machines with Tosnuc controls use G173 and from what I understand is that this will change the fixture offset to compensate for the amount that W axis quill is sticking out. So if G173 W-7.000" is programmed, the work offset will be compensated so that the Z axis will know that the quill is protuding 7.0". |

| Fanuc uses G10 for offset modification. G10 G90 L2 P1 W-7. would set G54 W-7. L2 Pn can set G54 (P1) to G59 (P6) G10 G90 L20 P1 W-7. would set G54.1 P1 W-7. L20 Pn can set G54.1 P1 to G54.1 P48 You can also use G10 G91 to increment the value. |
