Help with 15M

Have a 15M that threw a SV009 Z EXCESS ERROR (MOVING) this afternoon. As I understand it, this is an alarm when the Z axis moves past the home switch and physicallly runs into the upper or lower screw support.
I can not clear the alarm using the overtravel buttom and the axis buttom. Does anyone know what needs to be done to clear this so I can continue?

that alarm occurs when the difference between the actual axis position and the commanded position while moving, exceeds an amount set by a parameter.
This may be caused by over travel, but is in general caused by:
wrong encoder feedback (mainly mechanical)
control problem
wrong parameter
servo problem
wiring problem
Other problems may be possible.

It ended up being past the upper home positions switch. Switched to super slow speed, held the over travel pver-ride button and finally moved the Z axis into contact with the switch. Pushing the rested cleared the alarm and it's beed working fine since.
