21-T control switching from parentheses to brackets

I need the square brackets for a macro I'm writing but I'm getting a parenthesis instead. I believe I have to change a parameter but I can't find any mention of it in the manual. The machine is a Hardinge Cobra 42.

Its on the keypad of every 21 I've seen. It was shift>something on the number pad. All our machines are newer, so I can't just go look.

    What version of 21T?

On the 21T-B with small keyboard:
    Parameter 3204 bit 0 = 0 for "[" and "]", and = 1 for "(" and ")".

Parameter 3204 bit 2 = 1 should activate the [ C-EXT ] soft key, which will give you soft keys for "(", ")", and "@".

I have the "small" keypad so parentheses and brackets use the same button.

Bit 0 did the trick! Thanks for the help.
