Need Help!- How to unhiden option parameter 21i-MB

I had milling machine with Fanuc 21i-MB control but all option was hided by machine tool builder. Could any body help me to unhiden option parameter

the options on the later iB series can not be viewed- they are stored in flash and purposely hidden from view by Fanuc.

They are viewable in diagnostics. You can only see whats active. Were you looking to see if one is turned on or to set one yourself?

Interesting. I have a GeFanuc document that states : the iB series motherboards are replaced in the field during a regular service call and it will not be possible to view or alter the options. The procedure to change options is to call Fanuc with the serial number and you will get a time-limited encrypted file to load that will turn on only the options that Fanuc has been paid for.

I've been wondering if it's the same on the 18i-MA.

I have not really touched the parameter screens much.

I do have the original parameter print that came with the control when it was new and includes the option settings.

No, Greg, all Fanuc controls prior to the second iB generation allows viewing at all times. Entering/altering may require a password entry via the IPL page.

On this system there are different versions of fanuc software some that allow it, some that don't

One way around is to install an older system software change the option then re install the newer software

Bill, I just wondered if it was the same as the i-MB series. Went back to the shop today and looked more in depth at the screens on the 18i-MA. It appears as if its IPL password protected. I really would like more options.. not sure what they cost. The sheet I got with the control did not say what was on it, only that it had very few.

This is correct memory man. Its a motherboard, system software and CPU change on controls that "could" be turned into 5 axis machines, to make baaaad things in the wrong hands. You will also note a big yellow sticker on most japenese machines, all about export control - its all part of the same thing.

What is the latest system software for the 18i-MA?

I just wanted some 8000 and 9000 programs from the 16 Model B so I have some place to start. Hopefully they are from a 3 or 4 axes machine with a side mounted carousel type ATC.
