Hello, I have a Hardinge Cobra 51 Lathe with a Fanuc 21i-T control. The battery became low and we replaced it, and upon restart got x/z axis need zrn alarms. I completed the procedures for resetting the zero, performed all steps, parameter write, 1814 bit 4 etc etc. The problem is, even though my absolute and relative position are correct, and the turret in the proper position, the machine position is not. I can only move through approximately half of the travel before running into overtravel alarms in both x and z. I've done the P - CAN button when booting to ignore limits, but once the procedure is complete, it still overtravels. Any idea on how I can prevent overtravelling? Production is totally stopped until I can make this thing work. Thanks for any help |

| parameter 1814????/ i know is 1815 APZ but hm if u say 1814 i am not so sure u have to make on 1815 APC 0 and than APZ 0 go with axes in the most apropiate position for reference ,near by the hard limit aprox 2.5mm and than make 1815 APZ 1 shut down the power and than back the APC to 0 and again shut down.and than check also the param 1320 limits on the negative direction maybe are not ok. |

| If you are setting the bit manually then you MUST set 1815 bit 4 APZ to a zero and power down at the location that you want machine zero to be. When you power back up you also MUST release E-STOP and verify that the "Machine" position on the position screen is 0. Now set 1815 bit 4 APZ to a 1. (If it won't change then turn off 1815 bit 5 APC first. set APZ then turn APC back on) If you still have the same problem then change parameters 1860 & 1861 to all 0's for that axis. New numbers will appear in these parameters when you power down. (Has to do with the encoder data when using absolute encoders) |
