Question Tolerance of arc not being checked?

We have a Puma 10S lathe with a Fanuc 10T control.

The operator programmed this path incorrectly (correction is in parentheses) as shown below.

We were surprised that the machine moved in "full circle" type motion, trying to follow the incorrect path. This would have destroyed our boring bar if we were in the material. It has been our experience previously that if the three points (start, end, and specified center using I & K) have an error that exceeds a tolerance of .0001", the machine would stop and throw a PS191 Over tolerance of radius alarm.

The machine had recently lost all parameter settings due to a dead memory battery. It was restored by an outsourced service that took way too long to finish.

I think that it has something to do with the parameter #2410 Circ Tolerance setting. Currently it is set to 10000. I cannot find any info online as to what this number means.

This might be very similar to the Fanuc 10/11/12 parameter #3410 Tol. of Arc radius setting. All I was able to find is that if set to zero, then no checking will occur.

Any ideas to restore this function?

I read somewhere that for #3410, set to 100 equals .001". So I'm going to set my parameter #2410 to 10, that being equal to .0001" that I'm looking to use. This is the same value that I had found on a different lathe in our shop where this functions works as expected.

I think, in IS-B, 1 would mean 0.0001 inch.

Smile

So I need to check Parameter #1004, to confirm is-a or is-b.
Then I'll change to #2410 to 1 as you suggested if I'm using is-b.

Thanks for the info!

The parameter manual says that "IS-A cannot be used at present."
You can select between IS-B and IS-C only.

Thanks for correction. It would seem that I need to find a manual for this machine!
