Vertical carusel out of WHAK!!!!!!!!!!! help

Ok we have a Dah lih MCV-1020 With fanuc o-m controls i think is a 1997 machine it looks just like this one Used DAH LIH MCV-2100 Vertical machining centre - Used machines - Exapro so what happened was that the carousel kept spinning and not stopping so we shut the power to the monitor off after trying to do all kinds of stuff to stop it, we pushed reset, stop, emergency stop and nothing worked, so we just shut the power on the monitor off, and we turn the machine completely off and then when we turned it back on the tool numbers where all out of whack, tool #1 was totally different...So now we have From tool #1 to tool #25 2 tools slots with the same tool number, any ideas on how to fix this please let me know ASP please, thanks in advance. cheers!!!!

ps. and if someone has the manual please let me know i really need a copy and i cant afford one.

Your tool carousel counters are incorrect. (Probably from a faulty prox. on the piece that drives the geneva wheel of the carousel.)

Typically there is a counter for the number of tool pockets, one for the carousel position opposite the spindle, and one for the tool in the spindle. On a Fanuc OM control, the counters are usually in the 300 or 400-series DIAGNOSTICS (not the PARAMETERS).

If your manual doesn't tell you what the counter numbers are, simply get your carousel rotating and then page thru the DIAGNOSTICS until you see one of them counting up as the carousel rotates. (Hopefully you'll see real numbers and not binary bits....) Nearby there will be another that has the number of the tool the control thinks is in the spindle.

Once you've determined what the two critical counter numbers are, stop the carousel when the correct number pocket for the spindle tool counter is opposite the spindle. EX. If DGN. 442 is the number of the tool in the spindle and DGN. 446 is the counter for the carousel position you have make them the same number. Position the carousel pocket that corresponds with the spindle tool counter opposite the spindle. Then change the value of DGN. 446 to the same number.

If your carousel continues to index when the index command is given, most likely the prox. sensor that reads a non-metallic strip on the geneva wheel driver is faulty.

Good luck,
